Our Piper Career Development Center was created as a new, innovative approach to employee career development. This program was designed to fuse the career advancement of employees with the strategic goals of the company. Through hands-on training opportunities such as advanced electrical troubleshooting, ergonomic lifting, successful field management, and creative conflict resolution, our electrical contractors are given the tools they need to sharpen their skills and in turn, deliver enhanced electrical services for Piper Electric clients.

Sr. Estimator

Journeyman

SR. ESTIMATOR

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accubid or other computer estimating system
  • Good verbal and written communicator
  • Computer skills
  • Bluebeam
  • Thorough knowledge of national and local electrical building codes

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION/LICENSE REQUIREMENTS

  • Review plans, specifications, and addenda for preparation of estimate
  • Provide information and participate in determination of strategy
  • Select vendors and prepare quotables
  • Set up structure of labels for takeoff in estimating system
  • Takeoff and extend estimates to a complete raw/prime cost
  • Create and coordinate strategies and plans for each project with account manager

SALARY RANGE

  • $90,000-$125,000 DOE

ACCOUNT MANAGER – Service Department

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain Service Department customer relationships
  • Ensure customers are served within their time requirements
  • Oversee quality of craftsmanship
  • Estimate service projects
  • Promote and uphold all Piper Electric Company policies and safety procedures
  • Make recommendations to the Service Department manager to increase overall department efficiency, effectiveness, and profitability

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION/LICENSE REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • B.S. Degree in Construction Management, preferred
  • 4+ years as a Field Electrician
  • 4+ years as a Field Manager or Service Technician
  • 3+ years as an Account Manager

SALARY RANGE

  • $90k-110k annually

PROJECT MANAGER

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, update, and communicate manpower project
  • Coordination of manpower between other project teams
  • RFI’s submittals, meeting minutes, change orders and other project communication
  • Conduct regular weekly meetings with the Field Leadership to review job progress schedules and goals and to plan for manpower, material, tool, and sub needs

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION/LICENSE REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong people and team building skills with the ability to foster and maintain relationships with your internal team as well as external clients and vendors
  • Comfortable speaking in front of clients
  • Required: PMP certification, bachelor’s degree in construction management or equivalent experience

SALARY RANGE

  • $90,000 – $125,000

SUPERINTENDENT

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervisory experience with strong coaching and mentoring skills
  • Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code and other pertinent national and/or local codes
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Windows)
  • Excellent scheduling, planning and organizational skills
  • Excellent communications skills (verbal, written)
  • Ensure all safety measures and regulations are followed and promote safety culture at job sites with the goal of zero accidents or injuries
  • Monitor work progress and coordinate with the site GC and superintendents

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION/LICENSE REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid Colorado Driver’s License with good driving record
  • Current Colorado Journeyman or Master Electrician License

SALARY RANGE

  • $45/hr – $55/hr

FOREMAN

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, schedule and implement daily manpower, inventory material, tools, and equipment
  • Educate crew members and peers on NEC compliance & installation efficiencies
  • Monitor and manage field production and implement paths to improvement. Quality vs. Quantity
  • Entry level utilization of financial data to improve profitability. Purchase regulates and control material inventory
  • Strong Commercial, Industrial, and Residential skills to be adaptable to all the Piper Electric Divisions

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION/LICENSE REQUIREMENTS

  • Journeyman or Master License
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in the commercial or industrial electrical field
  • Knowledge of NEC requirements and strong trade skills

SALARY RANGE

  • $39/hr – $44/hr

JOURNEYMaN

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Must have knowledge and understanding of how to install all raceways and adhere to NEC compliant wiring methods
  • Knowledge of other construction trades
  • The ability to lead/develop up to 4 apprentice electricians
  • Must be able to troubleshoot and repair existing electrical wiring and systems
  • Must be self-motivated and show great initiative
  • Enforce and promote all company safety policies and standards. Lead by example

  • Journyman or Master License

  • Punctual and dependable with a great track record for attendance
  • Has a positive attitude and willingness to learn

  • Ability to take direction and works well with others
  • Must be able to read, climb ladders, lift 50 lbs., raise arms over head and stand for extended periods of time

Delivery driver

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Will have additional general warehouse responsibilities once driving duties are complete
  • Pickup and delivery of materials and tools as needed
  • Check-out and check-in tools to and from the shop and job sites utilizing our Tool Watch Software Program
  • Keep delivery trucks clean and in good working order utilizing our Tool Watch Software Program
  • Perform minor maintenance and repairs on company owned equipment and tools
  • Must be able to occasionally start earlier than 7:00am or work later than 3:30pm
  • Coordinate delivery route with Warehouse Manager while communicating progress and alert of any issues
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and safe warehouse work area
  • Time worked is turned in daily to Warehouse Manager for entry

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION/LICENSE REQUIREMENTS

  • Current State of Colorado Driver’s License
  • Clean driving record – as determined by PEC
  • Must be insurable for driving company owned vehicles
  • General knowledge of all major thoroughfares throughout the Denver Metro area
  • Must be able to drive both automatic and manual transmission vehicles

SALARY RANGE

  • $18/hr – $24/hr
